Canal Place

Canal Place or One Canal Place is a famous skyscraper with a height of 440 feet. Located at Canal Street in New Orleans Louisiana, the building is famous for its shopping mall called The Shops at Canal Place. Till the beginning of the 18th century, the area was covered by the waters of River Mississippi. In the start of the 20th century, the place was owned by American Sugar Refinery.

It was at that time when some of the structures were removed to construct what is called the Canal Place today. In 1979, the Phase 1 of the building was completed, while Phase 2 was completed in the year 1983. Phase 3 is being planned to further extend the this important landmark of this area.

One Canal Place is the 32-storey office complex that has been included in Class A commercial complexes of the region. The famous mall is located at the lower three levels of the building. Some of the popular stores of this mall include Ann Taylor, Blue Alligator Designs, Cafe Nuage, Centre Deli, Dominique Giordano Jewelry Designs, Francesca's Collections, jeantherapy, Kenneth Cole, Panda Cafe, Rhino Gallery, Saks Fifth Avenue, Starbucks and so on.
