
City Park
A public park in New Orleans, City Park is stretched over an area of 1,300 acres. The Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism is the state agency that operates this 6th largest park in United States. Established in the 19th century, the park is honored with the record of holding the world's largest collection of oak trees, some of which are 600 years old. The park was damaged by Hurricane Katrina and is reviving its old and popular look.

The park holds a number of attractions for the visitors who are planning a New Orleans travel. Carousel Gardens Amusement Park offers a number of rides and an antique collection of carousels. The Botanical Garden offers a variety of plants to explore. Sidney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden offers a wonderful collection of sculptures and oak trees.
There are many 18-hole golf courses located in the park that serve as the venue for various tournaments. A collection of 26 storybook exhibits are available at Storyland, the part of the park meant for children.
There are many venues in the park that are used for organizing a number of events. Some of the ongoing events include Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series, Summer Camp, International Bonsai Congress, Storyland Performances and a number of concerts. Birthday parties and weddings are also organized at these venues.
The park also serves as the venue for a number of sports activities like football, softball, tennis, soccer and rugby.
