New Orleans Arena is the home center for the basketball games of Tulane University and New Orleans Hornets. VooDoo used to play their home matches in this arena. The arena constitutes 56 luxury suites and 2,538 club seats. It can accommodate 18,500 patrons during Hornets games, 16,500 during arena football and 19,000 during other concerts.
VooDoo will resume playing in 2011 once again. This name has a remarkable history. This name was chosen by fans all across the city through votes. VooDoo was the most prominent phenomenon in the city according to which this name was selected. In its debut year the VooDoo won 11 games. This was a record in this arena. In 2007 VooDoo 13,000 tickets were sold prior to their games and this was also a record in the arena.
The chief mascot of the Voodoo is a walking skeleton wearing a ragged tailcoat and a top hat and bones. The co mascot of the VooDoo is Mojo. The weirdest part is that the VooDoo home field is referred to as 'The Graveyard'; the cheerleaders are referred to as the VooDoo Dolls.
