The Historic New Orleans Collection is a place of great tourist interest in New Orleans. The HNOC was established in the year 1966 and functions as a research center and a museum that works to promote and maintain all traces and elements and fractions of the culture and historical background of the Gulf South region and New Orleans.
With constant research activities, preservation efforts and exhibits, the Historic New Orleans Collection museum is dedicated to spreading awareness about the culture of the place and helping to encourage it.

The HNOC showcases a number of exhibitions on a range of subjects, which all pertain to the cultural, historic and social development and past and present of the region. The exhibition covers all landmark events and important triggers that have shaped the region, including fairly recent happenings such as the Hurricane Katrina.

The HNOC can be found at the address 533 Royal Street New Orleans. The Collection is open to viewing from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The Museum remains closed on important holidays. The Royal Street Complex is open for visiting on Sundays as well, between 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
